Big Internet Shutdown Planned? Timing Revealed Inside

Big Internet Shutdown Planned Timing Revealed Inside – The Balochistan government has announced a province-wide suspension of internet services during Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The move, which affects both mobile data and fixed-line connections, is aimed at maintaining public order and safety during religious gatherings.

According to an official notification issued on September 4, mobile internet (3G/4G) services will remain suspended from 6 PM on September 5 to 9 PM on September 6. The shutdown also includes PTCL and NTC connections in selected areas.

Why the Internet is Being Suspended?

Authorities have cited public safety and security concerns during religious events as the main reason. The Home Department of Balochistan has asked PTA to ensure full enforcement of the shutdown while allowing access to essential government offices and white-listed numbers.

This isn’t the first time the province has seen such measures. The government has previously cut off internet access during religious or political events, claiming it helps prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain order.

However, civil society groups have criticized these actions, saying repeated shutdowns hurt education, business, and public access to information. The Balochistan High Court has also advised the government to limit such blanket bans and only target areas with verified threats.
